SUMMARY:Engineering\, Procurement & Construction Management
DESCRIPTION:The Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) industry plays an important role in the South African economy. The industry regulates infrastructure in the country\, involves many stakeholders and is therefore a large source of employment. \nEffective tendering is considered to be the cornerstone of EPC industry. There are many reasons why EPC projects lose money\, one of them is bad contracts which cost companies millions of rands. This can also lead to senior executives losing their jobs. \nRegulation 1 of the CIDB Act defines construction procurement as “procurement in the construction industry\, including the invitation\, award and management of contracts”. It is critical for the industry to collaborate and identify vital and innovative procurement practices to make a positive difference in project delivery. \nToday’s engineering procurement and construction industry is uniquely challenging. Government and industry participants generally agree that the implementation of e-procurement system will enhance the overall quality of The public sector tender and procurement landscape therefore successful implementation of innovative e-Solutions\, such as e-Tendering\, requires careful consideration. \nThis conference will be a platform for key industry leaders to discuss standards and regulation\, strategies\, costs and risk reduction\, challenges and opportunities related to projects in EPC. Delegates will hear case studies from major construction companies\, learning the latest innovation and trends in construction procurement. \nThe conference will also provide industry and public sector practitioners to engage in issues impacting the procurement of construction projects contracts. \nThis is a must attend event for persons involved in the EPC industry. \n  \nFor more information or to register\, email karabo@businesssuccess.co.za or call 011 472 1035

SUMMARY:PPP financing\, policy and law master class
DESCRIPTION:A unique and outstanding combination of intensive training on PPP financing\, policy and law to address the current key challenges in the African market. \nThe key in unlocking the real potential of Africa lies in its infrastructure. Merely grasping the concepts of PPP does not ensure success in Africa’s future development. Successful PPPs have one thing in common: a solid and sound structure fueled by interdependence from all stakeholders involved. Besides a shared vision\, we require the knowledge and the capacity to make it happen. \nBeginning with an in-depth understanding of how PPPs and project finance work\, to policy and law\, all the way to contract mechanisms\, financial structuring and risk analysis\, this course seeks to push its participants to master and innovate\, with the aid of a good number of carefully designed group exercises and case studies. \nThe final day of the course will be devoted to a series of case studies of actual current projects in the power\, transport and social infrastructure sectors in Africa\, which will demonstrate how the theoretical knowledge gained in days 1-3 is applied in practice.
