Announcement: Winding-down of Cement & Concrete SA | Infrastructure news

The Board of Cement & Concrete SA (CCSA), the industry body that has been advancing world class quality and environmentally friendly cement as well concrete products for the local industry, has decided to wind-down its operations in the current format with effect from 1 April 2024. The reason for taking this step is that the cost of running CCSA has become unaffordable because of the broader construction industry for several years having faced challenges due to a significant reduction in infrastructure investment in South Africa.

A new Cement Industry body will continue to deal with the critical issues for a sustainable Cement Industry such as Quality Standards, Imports, Carbon Tax, Electricity and Rail Infrastructure.
