CT airport in need of a rail link | Infrastructure news

According to the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), Cape Town International Airport needs a rail link to the city.

Prasa CEO Lucky Montana said that 12 million tourists pass through Cape Town International Airport every year, which is a huge factor determining the need of a rail link to the city.

He also said that trains should depart from the airport every 15 minutes.

According to Montana, the maintenance of coaches is no longer enough, the entire railway system of the country needs to be modernised.

With upgrades to signalling systems in Gauteng already being carried out, passengers will experience the changes nationally within three years.
