Air Cargo Africa 2013, taking place from 20 to 22 February at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, is being viewed as a major business and trade facilitator on the continent that contributes to the stimulation of much-needed economic activity, investment and job creation.
The event will be attended by leading players in the global cargo industry. Africa is one of the most sought after markets in the world due to its positioning as a developing and promising market. Air Cargo Africa 2013 has attracted 291 registered delegates from Africa and globally one month before the event, surpassing 2011 figures of the Nairobi event. The event’s prestige, within the air cargo fraternity, is underlined by the fact that all of the booths on offer for Air Cargo Africa 2013 have been booked months ahead of the deadline for the event.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported recently that the African continent continued to outperform other regions of the world in terms of air cargo performance. It specifically pointed, in its cargo market analysis, to a significant increase in the number of air freight routes between Africa and the Middle-East and Asia.
