Clarity regarding current strike action | Infrastructure news

Members are to take note of the following strike action that may have an indirect effect on the road freight sector:

1. Staff of the NBCRFLI

– Employees of the NBCRFLI (Road Freight Bargaining Council) are currently on strike

– In terms of the strike notice issued by the union representing Council staff, SACCAWU, the strike will run from

22 to 24 April- Council Management have put contingency plans in place

 2. Bus Driver Strike

– SATAWU and TAWU members in the passenger transport sector, more specifically bus drivers, are currently

also on strike

The two  strikes are UNRELATED and does not include employees employed by companies falling under the

scope of Council. It should be noted however that these strikes may have an indirect impact on service delivery

in the road freight sector.
