Xylem Water Solutions launches new cost saving product | Infrastructure news

The time is drawing nearer for Xylem Water Solutions South Africa’s first ever Product Showcase and Client Conference. This prestigious event is set to be held at Gallagher Estate on 12 and 13 August  this year. As this is the first event of its kind for Xylem in South Africa, the expert team have been pulling out all the stops in preparation, and now they have added yet another top-of-the-line product that will be officially launched at the showcase – the brand new Leopold Type XA filter underdrain.

At just 209mm tall, this new underdrain allows for a lower vertical footprint that results in either increased filtration driving head or reduced capital costs. Its breakthrough arch design improves efficiency and enables longer lateral runs of up to 9.75metres Innovative design features of Xylem’s Underdrain include a compact height, internal arch design and grout-pocket technology (patent pending) that combine to allow treatment plants to consistently deliver higher quality effluent. Grout pockets are capable of resisting up to 2.1 bar) of uplift pressures.

The product is suitable for applications such as portable water, wastewater or desalination pre-treatment filters.  It also works with almost all filter flume arrangements, including wall feed, as well several innovations to improve ease of installation.
