International Iveco team promotes safety | Infrastructure news

An epic 45 day 11 000 km trip promoting road safety within Southern Africa culminated in the team of international drivers meeting the media in Midrand hours before flying back to Italy.

The Daily4Africa road show saw two Iveco Daily 4×4 vehicles driven by an Italian based adventure team, who spread the message of road safety across South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.

Stopping at regional Iveco dealerships the team distributed 5000 leaflets illustrating the principal rules of safe driving on the road.

Ludovico de Maistre, team member said, “Everyone we met was eager to learn our message of road safety. During the trip the vehicles performed exceptionally well traversing over hostile terrain including rocks, bushveld and sand dunes with ease.”

Christophe Longuet, Iveco South Africa network and marketing manager says, “The vehicles used on this road trip will be on display at the forthcoming Johannesburg International Motor Show. “

The journey started in Johannesburg on 20 July ending in Cape Town on 2 September. The entire trip has been documented through video and photography at www.facebook.com/ttteam.
