At the 24th annual general meeting of the Road Freight Association the deputy minister of transport Sindiwse Lydia Chikunga congratulated the association on its achievements and successes.
Chikunga said, “The RFA is a key stakeholder and the government will consult with it regarding all future road infrastructure programmes because the road freight industry is a strategic and vital roleplayer in South Africa’s economy.” Concluded Chikunga,“We are going to be working together.It may be tough, it may be challenging, it may be competitive, it may be ever-changing. But it will definitely be rewarding.”The RFA will be working closely with the Department of Transport over the coming months to address the many challenges its members are facing.
