Heavy rains have caused a number of roads to have been washed away in Limpopo.
The affected roads and areas include: • The road between Vaalwater and Lephalale. Motorists are advised to use either the R510 and or R518 when traveling to Lephalale. • The Strydon tunnel is operating on one lane.• The Road at Nebo D1547 was partly cut off, however, graveling team were working on the matter but did not complete due to further heavy rainfall.
• D171 road which was heavily flooded may now be used as both lanes are now opened. The Department of Roads and Transport in Limpopo will continue to assess the extent of the damaged roads and will keep the pubic updated on the remedial measures. The Department urges all motorists to exercise extra caution and be on high alert when traveling on the Provinces roads during these rainy days.
