Cape Town is completing the outstanding MyCiti works | Infrastructure news

The City of Cape Town will appoint a new contractor to complete outstanding works to the MyCiti Bus Rapid Transit System.

The municipality has concluded a vigorous process to prepare a Request for Quotations (RFQ) document to appoint a new contractor to complete to complete outstanding works to supply, install, test, commission and maintain the MyCiTi Control Centre hardware, software and related systems

The city’s objective is for the contract to be awarded by the middle of May 2014 and it is anticipated that the successful bidder will commence work soon thereafter.

The RFQ iwill be advertised on the city’s website until 6 April 2014 and defines the scope of the outstanding work and the technical requirements.  The MyCiTi bus operations will not be directly affected as the scheduling and monitoring of the buses is still continuing.

Prospective bidders will have three weeks to bid for the contract.
