Ministers meet to expand the Northern Corridor Integration Projects - Infrastructure news

Projects falling under the Northern Corridor rose from 8 to 14 to expedite the holistic integration of countries of the Northern Corridor. This was decided at the beginning of July, when the 6th Northern Corridor Integration Projects Ministerial Meeting was held in Kigali, Rwanda.
The importance of diversifying finances sources to speed up the implementation of these projects was also discussed.
The North Corridor Ministerial Meeting also approved the formal joining of the Republic of South Sudan while Burundi decided to stay as observer for the next three months.
In attendance were Dr. Tedros Adhanom, (Foreign Minister of Uganda), Barnaba Benjamin Marial, (Foreign Minister of South Sudan), Louis Mushikiwabo (Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda), Michael Kamau (Cabinet Secretary of Kenya) and Dr. Richard Sezibera ( Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC)).
