Jacques Carelse has resigned as MD of UD Trucks Southern Africa with Rory Schulz, a well-respected and experienced stalwart at the company, being appointed as acting managing director.
This follows an announcement form the Board of UD Trucks Southern Africa. The UD Trucks Corporation, of which UD Trucks Southern Africa is a full subsidiary, forms part of the world’s second largest trucking company, the Volvo Group. According to Torbjörn Christensson, the company’s president for the southern African region, Schulz has a long history with UD Trucks, since 1991, and therefore has an in-depth knowledge of the company and the intricacies of the local trucking market.Says Christensson, “We have every confidence in Schulz and we know that he is dedicated to the success of the company, its dealers and UD Trucks customers across the region. In addition, the UD Trucks Southern Africa management team is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable in the industry.”
