Frank Matsaert, TMEA Chief Executive informed TWA that this communications tool will enhance accessibility of information to business looking at expanding trade into and through East Africa.

TMEA is now into its fourth year of enhancing trade and integration into the region and to celebrate launched the web-portal.
“Since we have been operating a lot has been achieved and we have documented some of the best projects undertaken in the form of case studies and shared them on our new website.”

“Together with our partners we have made considerable progress and have achieved commendable success. Many projects have matured and are delivering substantial benefits for the region.”

Some of the key projects TMEA have been involved with include the construction at the Holili and Taveta one-stop border posts at the Kenya-Tanzania border which is complete. An innovative customs systems in Rwanda and Uganda is facilitating the secure transportation of goods making it easier to clear them on arrival. Plus the recent signing of the Mombasa Port Community Charter by 25 government and private sector agencies has already begun to strengthen the efficiency of the Mombasa Port and the Northern Corridor.
