Every year, IMESA reviews the papers published in IMIESA Magazine, the Institute’s official publication , and select the best paper written by an IMESA member and the best paper by a non-member.

The aim of the award is to bring attention to the quality of expertise, technical knowledge and thought leadership in the field of public sector infrastructure development, and give recognition to the professionals who make such a significant contribution to IMIESA, the institute and the broader industry.

Each winner received a certificate

The winners will each receive a R500 cash prize, that we will EFT post event.

This year’s winners were announced at the IMESA Conference 2014 by IMIESA editor, Nicholas McDiarmid, and IMIESA Marketing Specialist, Jenny Miller.

Winners:
• Best paper submitted by an IMESA Member goes to Ronnie McKenzie for “Driving Down Leakage” – published in IMIESA October 2013
• Best paper submitted by and IMESA Non-Member goes to Bo Barta and Inga Loots for their paper “Energy optimisation within urban water systems” – published in IMIESA April 2014.
