Road expansion improves truck turnaround time to Kenyan port | Infrastructure news

The expansion of a major access road from Kenya’s central business district to the Port of Mombasa has been completed.

Hajj Masemo, Kenya Ports Authority principal communication officer, said that the dual carriageway had been expanded by two metres on each side to accommodate two trucks on either side at the same time. He added that the climbing lanes at gates 18 and 20 were also under construction, which was expected to improve off-take and truck turnaround time.

The access roads and gate expansion projects have been funded by TradeMark East Africa.
