N14 road rehabilitation project to impact motorists | Infrastructure news

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport says motorists should expect delays on both the East and West bound carriages of the N14 between Diepsloot and the intersection with Hendrik Potgieter road.

Delays will be caused by rehabilitation work being performed on this section of road over a period of 18 months. The Department says vehicles will be accommodated through a single lane in each direction.

The project involves the reconstruction of the base in slow and fast lanes, construction of new concrete-lined side drains, the application of new road markings, construction of new bridge parapets and the reinstatement of fences and guardrails where required.

The design life of the rehabilitated road is expected to be 15 years, with the project expected to provide employment, skills development opportunities, training and economic empowerment to SMME’s.
