The Department of Energy has paid a visit to a renewable energy success story on the West Coast, as the need for alternative energy projects is on the increase.

The wind farm is generating enough power to run at least 100 thousand low income households.

The site visit comes ahead of the start of the South Africa International Renewable Energy Conference in Cape Town this weekend.
