SARS Commissioner opens Newcastle branch | Infrastructure news

SARS Commissioner Tom Moyane has officially opened a new branch in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal.

It is the 53rd SARS branch nationally and will service the entire Amajuba district municipality, which includes Newcastle, Emadlangeni and Dannhauser. Previously these residents would have had to travel to SARS branches in Pietermaritzburg or Standerton.

While the branches’ operational opening took place on 19 October 2015, the subsequent three week period has allowed SARS to properly test its systems and processes.

The branch will feature dedicated Small Business Desks that are aimed at servicing the small business owner. Information packs and specialised services will be offered, providing a one-stop shop for those with small business queries.
