Peter Mountford, Super Group CEO with the trophy the company won in the transport and logistics category of the National Business Awards.

Super Group was recognized for its performance in the logistics and transport sector by the National Business Awards, held at Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg last week.

“We are delighted to have been nominated for this award and to win it means that we are succeeding in our strategy to build world-class competencies in logistics and supply chain management for our clients,” commented CEO Peter Mountford.

About 100 companies with a collective turnover of more than R300-billion entered the awards this year in a number of different categories.

Key market sectors for the company include automotive, consumer goods, mining, oil and gas, paper and pulp, pharmaceutical and parastatals.

Companies are acknowledged on the basis of innovative business practices, product development, enterprise, sustainability and the overall success of the business. In addition, they are recognised for their social and environmental contributions, commitment to customers, ethical behaviour and environmental sustainability.

“As CEO, my biggest achievement has to be the turn-around of Super Group from the significant losses and Balance Sheet leverage of the 2008 era, and creating a socially equal working environment not impacted by colour, race or creed,” added Mountford.
