Residents of Refilwe Township near Cullinan in Pretoria East will be without water for a few days as the city of Tshwane does maintenance work on the pipeline system

Residents of Refiloe Township near Cullinan in Pretoria East will be without water for a few days as the city of Tshwane does maintenance work on the pipeline system.

Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the sanitation department would do work on the Refilwe water reticulation network from November 30 to December 1.

“There will be a complete shutdown of water supply and thus residents are urged to store sufficient water for household purposes on Monday. On Tuesday, December 1, there will be roaming water tankers to provide water to customers in the area,” he said.

Leeuwfontein residents will also encounter water cut offs on the same Monday. Mashigo said the interruption was due to critical repair works that need to be carried out on the Leeuwfontein water supply pipeline.

“Magalies Water has to replace a particular section of the pipeline which is anticipated to take 12 hours to complete. Although Magalies Water will ensure that the service interruption is kept to a minimum, the Leeuwfontein area will be affected,” he said.
