IMIESA met with Executive Manager of ERWAT’s Commercial Business Division, Mikgane Tsotetsi, and explored the strategic advantage of using public-public partnerships to put urgently needed technical and operational skills at the disposal of the municipalities in urgent need of them.
ERWAT currently delivers its highly technical and proficient wastewater treatment and bulk wastewater conveyance services to some 2 000 industries, and more than 3.5 million people who have access to sanitation services.Plug and play partners
“We established the commercial business division to leverage our capacity to the benefit of other municipalities and industry,” explains Tsotetsi. “As the department was formed, the labs and the industrial services were already in place. We recognised the need for services like this for the municipal market.”“The model is now proven, and with so many municipalities unable to meet the critical demands facing them, ERWAT’s priority is to reach out to them in partnership.”
