Zambia’s York Commercial Park boosts SADC logistics | Infrastructure news

York Commercial park inside

An ultra-modern logistics, warehousing and distribution park has opened 6km outside the Lusaka CBD in Zambia.

The York Commercial Park (YCP) development is a response to the demand for modern, flexible warehouse space with good access, circulation and loading facilities in the region. The hope is that the park will become a pivotal distribution hub at the centre of major sub-Saharan logistics routes.

According to project managers Profica, the facility will continue to be developed, in two phases, over the next five years. It will be serviced by roads, paved areas, electricity, water, and security with monitored and controlled 24-hour access.

YCP is targeting both local and multinational companies by selling or leasing warehousing and light industrial units designed and constructed to client specification. Businesses of all sizes will be introduced to a mini-unit format. This allows smaller companies access to modern, bespoke storage and warehousing facilities, while larger businesses have the option to consolidate multiple mini-units.
