
Eskom has reached an agreement with three Mpumalanga municipalities who had defaulted on their payments to the utility.
The power utility said it will continue to engage the remaining four municipalities namely Goven Mbeki, Lekwa, Emakhazeni and Nkomazi local municipality.
“We are confident that the parties will reach reasonable repayment agreements. However, should the agreements not be concluded within the week, Eskom will continue with the disconnection process,” said Eskom. The power utility is also finalising discussions with the eMalahleni local municipality and is positive an agreement will be concluded soon.
