Bullish Spies joins ID Logistics | Infrastructure news

Friedel Spies is the new business development director for ID Logistics South Africa.

Spies has worked in the logistics industry for over a decade, specialising in business development and has assumed various customer and commercial roles. He has also dealt with a number of multi-national organisations in the industry and was a customer to the operations director for a leading logistics service provider in warehousing and distribution within southern Africa.

“We are excited that Spies has joined the business at a time when we are exploring new markets and expanding our services into South Africa, following the establishment of the company in South Africa during 2012,” says Etienne Juillard, managing director at ID Logistics.

“I was immediately drawn by the company’s different service offerings, and its impressive story line. Not many companies in this industry can claim what this group has achieved globally in less than 15 years. Its global success and exposure into other areas of supply chain means that there are a lot of exciting opportunities,” Spies says.

He adds that he is passionate about adding strategic value to an organisation and its people, and looks forward to be a part of ensuring sustainability of the business over a long-term period, tackling the challenges of growing a fairly new organisation.

“In the competitive logistics’ arena, clients are wanting more than just a standard commodity based offering, but rather a partnership that provides value add and is instrumental in driving down costs and improving efficiencies through an innovative approach,” he says. “I have been very impressed with how deeply the global group has entrenched innovation and various industry solutions into the heart of the business based on a customer-centric approach.

“Since joining the company in April, I have seen these benefits on a local level where through global collaboration, we recently launched our double decker truck solution for one of our customers,” he concludes.
