SA gets involved in Kenya's major LAPSSET project | Infrastructure news

South African President Jacob Zuma recently concluded a visit to Kenya where the Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia Transport LAPSSET corridor project was a main focus.

The project involves the construction of East Africa’s biggest port with road and rail linkages to Ethiopia and South Sudan. It also includes opening up Kenya’s long-neglected North-Eastern frontier. For South Africa this forms part of the larger strategy to inter-link Africa countries through transport infrastructure and ultimately build a road from Johannesburg and Cairo.
