Lesotho Highlands dams see small increase | Infrastructure news

Dam levels at the Lesotho Highlands Water Project have risen 5% following recent rains, but the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) says there is still a ways to go.

Although supply from the project to South Africa has not yet been threatened, the LHDA’s Reentseng Molapo says they will be comfortable when the dams levels reach 70%. Katse Dam is sitting at 55% capacity, while Mohale Dam at 46%.

According to Molapo, the low dam levels are still a concern and more rainfall is needed.
