Lives of those living in rural areas have changed for the better – thanks to innovation. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has developed a water treatment system to get water from rivers.

The project was first piloted in the Eastern Cape and later rolled out in Mpumalanga. Residents say the arrival of the Ama- drum has changed their lives.
