OR Tambo International warns on possible protest action near airport | Infrastructure news

Management of OR Tambo International Airport has received reports of possible protest action by members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) planned for Wednesday.

Leigh Gunkel-Keuler, spokesperson, OR Tambo International Airport, advised passengers to make allowance for delays and longer travelling time to the airport.

“We remain in close contact with the various law enforcement agencies in order to ensure that all routes leading to and from the airport remain unaffected by any possible protest action,” she said.

Airport management said they could not comment about the reasons for the possible protest action.

“We urge passengers travelling today to follow news updates on the possible protest action, in order to ensure that they are aware of any potential delays. Where possible, passengers heading for the airport should use public transport such as buses and the Gautrain.”
