A fire at the Eikenhoff sub-station has resulted in power and water outages across parts of Johannesburg.

Rand Water relies on the sub-station to power its Eikenhof pumping station, leaving some areas without water. Rand Water spokesperson Justice Mohale said that until the electricity is restored, water supply would be affected  in parts of western Johannesburg, the West Rand, and Rustenburg in the North West.
