SMEC South Africa secures another win at the National Business Awards | Infrastructure news

SMEC South Africa has once again proved its mettle as a leading infrastructure solutions company by emerging victorious in the Infrastructure Development and Maintenance category of the 2018 National Business Awards for the second year in a row.

The award recognises organisations involved in innovative, sustainable and efficiency-enhancing infrastructure development and maintenance. The scope of the category includes development and maintenance of roads and railways, ports, energy, water and sanitation, housing, access to basic services, healthcare and education.

SMEC South Africa was recognised for exemplary social and environmental contributions through their excellence of service, commitment to customers, ethical behaviour and environmental sustainability.

Some of the company’s top management were in attendance to represent SMEC South Africa at the awards evening which was a glittering affair held at Emperors Palace in Gauteng recently.

SMEC South Africa has received numerous awards this year including three Diamond Arrow awards at the annual PMR.Africa awards where the company placed first overall in the Civil Consulting Engineers, Structural Consulting Engineers and Combined Civil and Structural Consulting, categories for companies with more than 400 employees.

The company also celebrated the successes of its employees this year with Kresen Manicum securing the title of Technologist of the Year at the 2018 for his for his leadership qualities, sustained service to the profession and innovation and enterprise among other things, at the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) Awards.
