President Cyril Ramaphosa announced his new Cabinet and one of the surprise changes was the appointment of Good party leader Patricia de Lille as Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure.

De Lille is a very experienced politician and has a very strong following in the Western Cape.  She was mayor of Cape Town from 2011 until August 2018.

She was also provincial leader of the Western Cape from April 2015 until 1 February 2017. Leader of the Independent Democrats from 21 June 2003 – 21 May 2014 and Western Cape Provincial Minister of Social Development for almost eight months from  2010 to May 2011.
