Teboho Mofokeng, certified civil engineer and wastewater treatment specialist, shares her insights and expertise in creating the ideal career in her selfpublished book titled Finding your seat at the table.

She wrote the book to help others define, kickstart and reinvent their careers during uncertain economic times. The working world is constantly changing, with some careers and skills becoming redundant.

There is also a demand for new skills which are currently lacking in the market. This book gives an outlook on the future of work to help readers evaluate how their careers could be impacted, help them create a strategic roadmap to make careers adaptable, and most importantly, execute their career roadmap.

For the first time, there are five generations working alongside each other.

These generations differ in their culture and behaviour which impacts team dynamics and performance and influences how teams are led.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Teboho Mofokeng is a certified civil engineer and wastewater treatment specialist who started her career during the 2008 global economic crisis.

Within four years of working, she was promoted to associate director at an international consulting firm with local offices in South Africa at the time. She was often the youngest and only female at the leadership table and has over a decade of experience in management.

Teboho has been featured in publications such as Water and Sanitation Magazine – Hot Desk Profile, SAICE online Magazine #ENGAGE, Destiny Women’s Magazine August issue and appeared on Business Day TV.
