At the recent U.N. climate change conference in Paris 40,000 people were fed daily creating more than a tonne of food waste – but that waste wasn’t wasted.
At a plant about 30 kilometers south of the French capital, those plate scraps were fermented into biogas. The biogas is burned to produce electricity. The residue left behind is then used as fertiliser,-VOANews
