Police are investigating the death of a construction worker who is believed to have been pushed off a ledge by his colleague.

News24 reports that the twenty-five-year old man plunged six floors to his death today after being pushed into a stairwell of a building under construction.

According to Rescue Care, paramedics and EMRS arrived on the scene just after 8:00 this morning. The man was assessed and found to have sustained critical injuries. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane told News24 that detectives were investigating a case of murder and that a 19-year-old man has been arrested and will appear in court soon.
