South Africa is currently facing one of the worst droughts, with national dam levels at 53% as compared to last year’s 64.3%. The Department of Water and Sanitation has intensified water restrictions to ensure that there is enough water to sustain the country as there are no signs of heavy rains this summer. All nine provinces are affected by the drought, and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has put in place a task team to tackle the water wastage problem.
