More than one billion people living in Africa are still battling to gain access to electricity from the traditional grid supply. However, the energy landscape across Africa is evolving as consumers, independent power producers and other stakeholders devise solutions to change the way in which energy is generated and distributed.
Such stakeholders will be able to share and explore options available in the renewable energy sector at the Energy Revolution Africa 2017 event taking place in Cape Town in May. This event will provide a platform to discuss the future of energy development and growth in Africa for all the energy minds in the sector who are also solution providers, consultants and renewable energy producers. The event will coincide with African Utility Week.Green energy
Green innovations and disruptive technologies are making it possible to quickly roll out integrated microgrid solutions. Evan Schiff, event director of African Utility Week and Energy Revolution Africa said that “In this context, it made sense for us to move with the market and introduce a platform focused on the future of green energy”.What will be showcased
Focusing on community scale projects and innovation in the sectors of renewables, future technology, microgrids, energy efficiency and energy storage, Energy Revolution Africa will showcase the latest technology, as well as practical solutions and examples from successful community and commercial projects.“It will be a powerful opportunity for new energy purchasers and large power users, from commercial property developers and the agricultural sector to mines and metros, as well as anyone interested in the exciting opportunities and technologies that are emerging in a fast growing renewable technology sector,” Schiff said.
