The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality will embark on several road infrastructure maintenance projects valued at R319 million from February until December 2018.
According to the municipality this forms part of an intensive campaign, which began last year, to turn the City into a construction site. The municipality says works will include the resurfacing of 1 600km of roads as well as the gravelling 1 300km of roads.“The budget will be split among all three regions of Buffalo City and contractors are anticipated to commence work in March 2018,”the municipality explains.
Wards that are expected to benefit from this project include the coastal district that comprises of the area from Kwelera River to the Chalumna River along the coast and inland up to Reeston.
