Transnet board visits Esselen park | Infrastructure news

On 30 October 2012, board members of Transnet Limited, led by chief executive Brian Molefe, visited the School of Rail at Esselen Park. Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) chief executive Siyabonga Gama introduced the visitors to a large group of learners, newly-appointed train drivers, drivers’ assistants, engineering technicians and protection officers.

School of Rail head Johannes Makhusha emphasised the important role Transnet plays in developing skills and creating jobs. Transnet CEO Molefe spelled out the significance of the group’s Market Demand Strategy (MDS), calling on all present to give of their best, as the success of the MDS would depend mostly on their hard work. The strategy, he pointed out, is in the best interests not only of Transnet but of the whole country and its economy.
