The Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) has showcased its Central Aeronautical Database (CAD) system at the inaugural World Air Traffic Management Congress,  in Madrid, Spain.

According to ATNS the CAD system is similar to the European Aeronautical Information System Database (EAD), which is currently used by Eurocontrol and the European Air Traffic Management community.

The CAD system now ensures that Africa aligns itself with global initiatives and technologies.

During the congress 4 760 visitors from across the globe participated in debates, discussing the future of air traffic management as the world’s foremost aviation leaders shared insights, views and expertise on issues and challenges facing the industry.

The congress took place between 10 and 15 February.
