Metro police steps up operations on Fields Hill | Infrastructure news

Law enforcement has been stepped up in the Fields Hill area following the recent tragic accident involving a horse and trailer where 23 lives were lost.

Trucks found to be un-roadworthy by the metro police will be impounded pending the remedying of  identified faults.

To date 18 trucks have been impounded for various defects and suspected irregular authorisation  permits. This approach by the Metro Police is likely to create inconvenience in the freight transport  industry, and the head of Metro Police, Commissioner Nzama requests the understanding and cooperation from all stakeholders.
