MAN’s Dickson moves on | Infrastructure news

Bruce Dickson , MAN Truck & Bus South Africa’s current Chief Executive Officer, has announced his resignation from the company. He will however remain a Non-Executive Member of the MAN Truck & Bus SA Board of Directors.

Dickson says, “Towards the middle of 2013, I was offered a wonderful opportunity to join a very successful VW Retail Group (Alpine Motors), based in Pinetown, KZN, as a partner and shareholder. Alpine Group has a VW and Audi Centre, with a commercial vehicle dealership, as well as an MAN after-sales dealership.

“My career began over 34 years ago and I have made many personal sacri-fices in order to serve the corporate entities I have worked for. After lengthy deliberation with my family, I took a decision in December last year to tender my resignation at MAN Truck & Bus SA. I will now spend my time at home in Pinetown and start a new exciting chapter in my life.”

It is encouraging that he will continue to support MAN and VW truck and bus products in his new position at Alpine Motors. Since July 2013, Dickson oversaw both the truck and bus divisions of MAN Truck & Bus SA, notching up significant milestones in the company history book, including penetrating blue-chip fleets, helping pioneer specialised trucks and buses and spearheading the MAN EfficientLine Tour 2012, which set new long-haul fuel economy benchmarks.
