RFA Convention to unpack new B-BBEE codes | Infrastructure news

The revised Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Codes (Generic Codes) came into effect on 1 May this year and as such, has rendered the existing Transport Charter (Road Freight Sub-sector Code) obsolete and invalid.

The Road Freight Association (RFA) is a signatory to the Charter and has been in consultation with the Department of Transport (DoT) for the new Charter.

The new Charter will be aligned to the new Generic Codes and is vastly different to the existing Charter. The new Charter is set to change the playing field as it will have a major impact on the road freight industry once implemented – especially in terms of the Enterprise and Supplier Development element, which relates to procurement, particularly when it comes to vehicles, fuel, tyres and maintenance spares.

Attend the RFA Convention 2015 where you will:

  • Learn about changes in the new Codes
  • Get a sneak preview of the proposed Charter
  • Explore the rollout process of the Charter
  • Visualise the difference between the old and new Charters
  • Quantify the impact on Business
Sibongile Zikalala, Imperial Logistics’ Sustainability Director, will also explore the implication and practicalities of the Charter on the trucking industry.
