Angolan transport company Macon has inaugurated a new, $5 million inter-provincial bus station in Luanda.
The station includes a boarding area, ticket office, two restaurants, three convenience stores, a newspaper stand, a bank and a police station. The new terminal, which has the capacity to receive 7 000 passengers, is set to deal with at least 160 buses a day (80 departures and 80 arrivals).In addition to the inter-provincial transport service, the company currently operates intercity transport services in the provinces of Luanda, Malange and from July this year will open a service in Lunda Sul.
The private company holds the concession on public road passenger transport services (urban and inter-provincial), with a fleet of 588 buses.
