Cabo Verde modernises customs clearance | Infrastructure news

A new paperless information system has come into operation at the Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) customs service.

The system, Sydonia World, is expected to reduce customs clearance times of imported goods and provide online monitoring of customs processes. It should also reduce travel costs related to document acquisition and storage.

All documentation, including invoices, tickets and others, will become digitised and attached to the process, thus bringing to end the storage of paper statements.

Sydonia World integrates with other systems. These include the online Foreign Trade Ticket (TEC) of the Directorate General of Industry and Trade, the system of the Directorate-General for Traffic and Road Safety, the National Statistics Institute (INE) and the Treasury, among others.
