A vacancy exists for a general manager at the Water Academy. The appointed general manager will need to start work in Knysna at the first quarter 2013, and must be based in the Knysna Head Office for at least the first 6 months from appointment.
He/she will be mentored directly by the CEO of the company. 1. Manage Financials to include budgeting, cash flow, overheads2. Manage Sales closely in conjunction with the sales manager, to include tenders, proposals, follow ups
3. Manage Projects to include attending meetings, site visits and reports with close working relations with the client, facilitator and learners in the field
4. Manage overall quality
5. Strategic Business Management and development
Required qualifications and attributes
· BSc/Diploma in analytical chemistry/Water-care/Water, Sanitation and extensive experience with Process Operations· Minimum 5 year experience in the water and wastewater environment
· Knowledge of legislation governing the water and wastewater industry
· Passionate about people and social development
· Passionate about clean water
· Be willing to become an educator and to be involved with all aspects of new education systems – to stay in the stream
· To be an entrepreneur: Drive business, keep it safe
· Hold ones own at difficult meetings
· Excellent peoples skills and good staff relationships
· Self-driven individual able to work with limited supervision
