The JRA launches an app to improve service delivery | Infrastructure news

Johannesburg residents will soon be able to quickly report potholes, faulty traffic signals, storm water drains, manhole covers, and other infrastructure issues related to Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA).

The JRA is launching its Find & Fix mobile application for testing by citizens. Hailed as the first app of its kind to be launched in the Southern Hemisphere, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, Find & Fix will be officially launched on 14 May once testing on all platforms is finalised.

Theapp will befree to use and can be downloaded for most mobile operating system platforms. It will feature an accurate location with GPS co-ordinates and make it easy to provide photo evidence. According to the JRA, this improves the JRA’s assessment of what is required to fix the fault, thereby enhancing efficiency and increasing productivity.

The launch of the testing phase for the mobile app forms part of the JRA’s‘just tell us’ campaign. The service delivery drive aims to ensure that the JRA is more accessible to citizens and road users in the city and promotes citizens’ active involvement of in the city’s service delivery activities.

JRA is committed to become a centre of engineering excellence with service delivery efficiencies and satisfied customers,” says JRA Managing Director SkhumbuzoMacozoma. “We call on citizens to join in testing this exciting and innovative application.”

Residents can download the beta testing app for Android phones on 2 May and iOS systems on 9 May.
