Announced today (12 June), The Eco-Logic Awards, hosted by The Enviropaedia (in association with SABC3), have extended their entry deadline to 30 June. Organisations and individuals can submit their products, services, innovations and achievements via http://www.eco-logicawards.com/how-to-enter/.
The Enviropaedia’s Publishing Editor, David Parry-Davies stated: “Winners of ecologic awards attract significant media attention and consumers who care about the eco-logical footprint of the products they purchase, which is why we wanted to allow a little more time for more companies and individuals to participate this year.” Says Roxanne Norman, Marketing Manager of Hotel Verde, the 2013 title holders of the Water Conservation Award: “It is great to be recognised especially on a broad-reaching television channel like SABC 3. The most rewarding benefit so far has been working with the City Of Cape Town’s Water Department during water month (March). They approached us with the idea of sharing our water efficiency ideas with other hotels in the city.” She believes that consumers benefit greatly from having a trustworthy and thorough source, like The Enviropaedia, to consult when they are looking for ethically responsible service providers.Once all the entries are in, a team of highly respected, environmentally-aware judges will meet to select three finalists in each category. Award categories for the 2014 Eco-Logic Awards are: Water Conservation, Energy Saving, Transport, Recycling, Biodiversity, Climate Change, Municipalities, Youth, Eco-Angel, Eco-Warrior, Eco-Innovation and Eco-Community.
Judges will assess submissions using seven criteria that are the ‘roots’ of Eco-Logic. These are:- Care for the Earth
- Long-term thinking
- Holistic thinking
- Ubuntu
- Quality-based values
- Innovation and
- Emotional and intuitive intelligence (wisdom).
