The Goscor Power Products’ premium product range for agriculture and construction is powered by Robin Subaru engines.
“In addition to their superior quality and rugged reliability, these heavy duty overhead cam (OHC) engines present a long list of exceptional and unique features that deliver exceptional performance, low operating costs, low maintenance and long life,” notes Mark Bester, general manager of Goscor Power Products. The sophisticated air-cooled, four-cycle, slant single cylinder engine surpasses the industry benchmark for same sized engines and owes this acclamation to its utter simplicity. The OHC system is chain-driven and makes use of much fewer parts which spearheads a host of advantages. Engine life is directly related to temperature and lubrication. The highly efficient cooling system and precision lubrication system on the Robin Subaru engine from Goscor Power Products extend engine life by addressing the two main causes of engine seizure – excessive heat and under-lubrication.A cooler engine keeps the oil cool, maintaining the right viscosity for maximum engine protection. Cooler oil also lasts longer which extends service intervals. Large cooling fins engineered into the crankcase cylinder and mounting base remove heat generated inside the engine. The heat is dispersed outside using the flywheel mounted at the back of the engine. Further cooling is achieved by the flywheel which runs at high speed and blows over the engine and fins. The result is a 30% cooler engine which Bester says is lower than any similar sized engines currently available in the market.
Moving on to the lubrication system, Bester explains that the Robin Subaru engine is fitted with a unique and superior oil pick up system. “So even when operating at a slant, engine efficiency will not be compromised because the system will continue to put oil on the chain.” The direct drive through the chain ensures 50% easier, reliable starting, less pulling force and no kick back due to the sophisticated mechanical compression release system and a newly designed combustion chamber. This also extends the life of the recoil starter. Bester highlights that these engines started instantly during testing in temperatures ranging from as low as – 10ºC up to + 50ºC. The Robin Subaru engine delivers power and performance without compromising on economical fuel consumption. The EX27-Premium 6.0 HP engine, which is the flagship in the range, delivers up to 4.4 kW.
