An R123 million contract for logistics services has been awarded to Imperial Logistics by South African glass manufacturer, PG Group.

Experience and expertise in transporting and handling glass, and the ability to deliver tailor-made logistics solutions secured the contract. The partnership between the companies goes back more than 10 years. Constant innovation and improvisation have been a requirement in the development of efficient and cost effective logistics solutions.
The contract includes the establishment of a modern logistics command centre, designed to optimise supply chain performance and reduce overall supply chain costs. The centre will enable accurate measurement and management of glass supply and address glass demand challenges. New vehicles and infrastructure were sourced to accommodate the command centre’s staff complement. Current trailer fleets are being modified for glass distribution.
