Integrated waste management services for Africa | Infrastructure news

A global provider of integrated waste management services recently showcased its new equipment dedicated to serve Casablanca.

This followed averda being awarded a long-term waste management contract by the city of Casablanca earlier this year. The company will introduce international expertise and new technology systems and equipment to the Moroccan market to ensure the city’s waste management needs are met as efficiently as possible.

Maysarah Khalil Sukkar, averda chairperson, says: “Our debut on the African continent where we currently clean six cities, gave us the desire and confidence to play a positive role in improving the environment in other African cities as well. Our solutions are adapted to our host market and make good use of technology as do our tried and tested community engagement initiatives. We are mindful of the need for our bespoke waste management services wherever we operate and are keen to clean more cities in Africa, a market we are confident to serve with as much care and dedication as we do our other emerging cities. averda is prepared and well placed to provide African countries with innovative waste management solutions to fulfil national vision of sustainability.”

The company services a client-base that includes governments and municipalities, businesses and residential communities through partnerships and projects in the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Angola, Morocco, and Ireland.

averda has become an acknowledged international supplier of waste management services currently serving 14 cities in three continents. It aims to be present in 50 cities across five continents within 10 years.
